Radiation Skin Relief
More than half of all people with cancer will receive radiation therapy as part of their treatment. Radiation therapy uses beams of intense energy to kill cancer cells. Most methods are precise and directly target the cancer while protecting healthy tissue around it. However, radiation is damaging to the DNA in healthy skin cells, so changes in the skin are a common side effect experienced by those undergoing therapy.
You may or may not have side effects from radiation therapy. The more you understand and prepare for these, the easier your journey will be.
Radiaura Dermocosmetics is your partner for any skin-related side effects. These could include:
Redness and irritation
Dry, flaky, peeling skin
Itchy skin
Hair loss
Bruising and broken capillaries
Changes in skin texture
Changes in nails and cuticles
Sun sensitivity
Hyperpigmentation
